Spring House League for Current 5th-8th Graders
Majors (5th & 6th Graders)
Current 5th and 6th Graders play together in the CSYBA Spring League, an association of house-level (recreational) teams from nearby suburbs, such as Deerfield, Highland Park, Vernon Hills, etc. Games will begin in mid-April. The championship game is likely to occur during the first week of June. Teams will play two games per week, on average, and practice at the coach’s discretion. Games and practices may be on any day of the week. The game schedule cannot be known until early- to mid-April, around the time the season begins. The CSYBA League Director (not Northbrook Baseball) dictates the schedule. Most away games are in nearby suburbs (e.g. Highland Park, Deerfield), however on occasion they can be further away (e.g. Waukegan). Home games will be played at a variety of fields throughout Northbrook.
BAT RULES: Players may use any bat with a USA Baseball stamp on it (see image below). The USA Baseball stamp was established to certify a “wood-like performance standard for youth baseball bats.” You can read more about it HERE. Players may also use a personal wood bat. Players may not use USSSA or BBCOR bats. (These bat rules apply to the Spring House League Majors Division. Different rules apply in travel leagues.)

CALLING ALL COACHES!
Please consider volunteering to coach a team. Coaching is an excellent opportunity to spend time with your child and give back to your community. You do not need to be a baseball expert in order for the kids to have a great experience – anyone with a positive attitude can create a fun atmosphere. Northbrook Baseball depends on volunteer coaches.
