Spring House League for Current 3rd and 4th Graders
Instructional (3rd Graders)
All 3rd Graders play in the Instructional Division. Instructional Division is a kid-pitch league (umpires and/or coaches no longer pitch) and players will learn new baseball concepts, such as stealing bases.
Teams will play an average of two games per week, on weeknights (Mon-Thurs) and/or Saturdays, and practice on Sunday afternoons. All players will be asked to attend an indoor evaluation session at GBN in February. This is not a tryout, and there are no cuts. The purpose of this session is for League Directors to assess players’ skill levels for creating equal-strength teams. Friend requests cannot be honored, but Directors try to ensure that each player is placed on a team with a few schoolmates.
BAT RULES: Northbrook Baseball provides metal bats to all teams for players to use in games and at practices. Players may not use their own personal metal or composite bats. Players are allowed to use a personal wood bat. (These bat rules apply to the Spring House League Instructional Division. Different rules apply in travel leagues and summer house leagues.)

CALLING ALL COACHES!
Please consider volunteering to coach a team. Coaching is an excellent opportunity to spend time with your child and give back to your community. You do not need to be a baseball expert in order for the kids to have a great experience – anyone with a positive attitude can create a fun atmosphere. Northbrook Baseball depends on volunteer coaches.
